Golden Stag Beetle

Villa Del Arte

Beetles eat and process natural waste. This recycling character of the beetle has been translated by using recycled empty spray cans as a canvas. The gold shiny metal of the spray can material is also used within the painting as the shiny armor shield (elytra) of the beetle, so that the resemblance is reflected not only in the symbolism, but also in the material.

Spraycan on round aluminium can panel 150 x 150cm. For more info you can visit Villa Del Arte galleries. Nieuwe Spiegelstraat 34, Amsterdam
